Defillama Founder claims Apple spent months removing counterfeit apps
2026-08-16 22:02:20
According to CoinMeta, the founder of Defillama, 0xngmi, stated that Apple spent several months removing counterfeit Defillama applications, which led to a delay in the public release of the mobile app for that platform. 0xngmi revealed that the team failed to get the counterfeit applications removed in a timely manner when reporting trademark infringement and impersonation issues. It was only after funding a small test wallet, downloading the application, and observing the disappearance of funds that Apple removed it within a few days. This incident directly affected the launch of Defillama's product. 0xngmi said that the company "waited until all counterfeit applications were removed before launching their own app to avoid users being deceived." Currently, the official app for Defillama is available on iOS and Android, and users can confirm the developer and provider information through the official website.
