Indian silver imports rebound, trader licenses are being approved one after another

According to CoinMeta, India's silver imports are on the rise, despite facing administrative obstacles. The new licensing system led to a disruption in imports, but traders hope to profit from the favorable premium. Sources familiar with the matter revealed that some traders and banks have recently been granted permits to import more silver into India, but they must meet certain special import requirements. Data shows that traders imported approximately 89.81 tons of silver through the Indian International Gold and Silver Exchange in August, after a period of six consecutive months without any silver imports. A chief advisor noted that compared to July, the supply of silver has certainly improved, and it is estimated that around 400 tons of import permits have been approved so far. As India's silver supply increases, the premium over international prices has narrowed. As of last Friday, the average 30-day premium for silver in India was still about $4 per ounce.
