According to CoinMeta, as reported by bitcoin.com, the Austrian Financial Market Authority (FMA) imposed a fine of 70,000 euros (approximately $80,300) on the crypto exchange Bitpanda on August 14, marking it as the first legally binding penalty under the European Union's Crypto Assets Markets Regulation (MiCA). FMA stated that Bitpanda violated Article 8 of MiCA by failing to submit a crypto asset white paper at least 20 days before the tokens were launched for trading, and also published marketing announcements without the white paper being released.
