According to CoinMeta, India's largest oil and gas company, Oil and Natural Gas Corporation of India (ONGC), has obtained permission from the US Office of Foreign Assets Control to return to Venezuela. ONGC holds a 40% stake in the San Cristobal oil field and a 11% stake in the Carabobo project, but due to US sanctions against Venezuela, the company was forced to significantly reduce its activities. Returning to Venezuela could result in unpaid dividends of over $500 million for ONGC's shares in these two oil fields. The company is currently in negotiations with the Venezuelan government and may reach a new cooperation agreement that would allow ONGC to take over the operation of the San Cristobal and Carabobo fields.
