Dutch prosecution sells Knaken seized assets to raise $2.5 million

According to CoinMeta, as reported by Decrypt, Dutch prosecutors have sold encrypted assets seized from the bankrupt cryptocurrency platform Knaken to raise approximately $2.5 million to repay creditors. The bankruptcy trustee stated that customers invested a total of around $12 to $14 million, and the proceeds from the sales represent the main available funds within the bankruptcy estate. Knaken operated without the required regulatory permits and was declared bankrupt by the court in July. Some customers and lawyers question whether the prosecution has the authority to sell these assets, arguing that customers may have mistakenly believed they actually held the cryptocurrencies displayed in their platform accounts.
