Societe Generale: U.S. data leads to a reduction in bullish speculative bets on the dollar
2026-08-17 20:03:48
According to CoinMeta, Kit Jukes, an analyst at Societe Generale in France, stated in a report that as the reasons for holding long positions in the US dollar weaken, speculators are reducing their bets on a stronger dollar, and currently the market is trading quietly. He pointed out that US data this month may have sent false signals to the market, with consumption, inflation, and employment all falling short of expectations, which has led the market to lower its forecasts for interest rate hikes in the United States. Jukes said that the question now is whether to wait for the September data or to accept the expectation that the US dollar index may hover in the 95-100 range for the rest of this year.
