DWF Labs: Morgan Stanley and JPMorgan Chase See Significant Growth in Their Exposure to Crypto Assets

According to CoinMeta, in the latest weekly market report, based on the 13F documents from Q2, Morgan Stanley’s BTC open interest increased by 3.7% week-on-week, JPMorgan Chase’s BTC open interest increased by 18.6%, and ETH open interest increased by 12.2%. The two institutions collectively added approximately 1,556 BTC and 20,897 ETH during the quarter. DWF Labs notes that the bank’s 13F positions are largely likely to represent customer assets and do not equate to the bank’s proprietary investments. On the market side, the total open interest in crypto futures ($OI) rose to $118.07 billion as of August 16, a 2.7% increase from the previous week, reaching the highest level since June. Meanwhile, last week there was a net outflow of $385.2 million in US spot BTC ETF, the largest single-week net outflow in five weeks.
