According to CoinMeta, OceanaGold has signed a final agreement to acquire all issued shares of Ausgold for approximately $549 million, with the transaction equity value amounting to around 776 million Australian dollars. Ausgold owns the gold project Katanning located in Western Australia, and the acquisition is expected to be completed in December 2026, subject to approval from shareholders and regulatory authorities. Under the agreement, shareholders of Ausgold will receive 0.03365 shares of OceanaGold for each share of Ausgold they hold, or they may choose cash payment, with a cash pool cap of 194 million Australian dollars. The board of directors of Ausgold has recommended this plan, and the major shareholder Dundee, which holds 7.7% of the shares, has also expressed its support. The project is expected to produce over 100,000 ounces of gold per year, with the first production phase planned for 2029. OceanaGold also plans to provide a transitional loan of 20 million Australian dollars to Ausgold in November 2026 to support operating funds before the completion of the transaction.
