Goldman Sachs: The likelihood of the Fed raising interest rates in September is extremely low due to slowing inflation

According to CoinMeta, Goldman Sachs' chief economist Jan Hatzius stated that the likelihood of a Fed interest rate hike in September is very low due to recent weak inflation data. According to Goldman Sachs' analysis, market expectations for further rate hikes are still too aggressive, especially considering that retail sales, employment data, and inflation have all fallen short of expectations. Hatzius pointed out that market odds of a rate hike in September have dropped to around 30%, and the expectation for the next rate hike has been postponed to January next year. Goldman Sachs also noted that the yield curve of U.S. Treasury bonds may become steeper, reflecting increased expectations of rate cuts and concerns about fiscal prospects.
