Stripe in talks to acquire OpenRouter; a16z and Menlo Ventures set to reap huge returns

According to CoinMeta, as reported by Business Insider, Stripe is in talks to acquire AI's model market OpenRouter for over $8 billion. If the deal is completed, Andreessen Horowitz (owned by a16z) will hold more than 17% of the equity, valued at nearly $1.5 billion. Their initial investment was about $20 million, while Menlo Ventures holds over 6% of the equity with an initial investment of less than $50 million; the current value of their holdings has exceeded $500 million. Together, the two institutions' returns will be close to $2 billion.
