KaiTou Macro: UK unemployment report suggests the Bank of England may delay interest rate hikes
2026-08-18 15:10:56
According to CoinMeta, Ashley Webb, the chief UK economist at KaiTou Macro, stated that the UK's unemployment rate rose to 4.9% in June, with the monthly unemployment rate increasing from 4.6% to 5.4%. These figures indicate a continued weak job market, supporting the view that the job market will not contribute to a second round of inflationary effects. Therefore, it is likely that the Bank of England will not raise interest rates further from 3.75%.
