According to CoinMeta, analysts point out that the rapid rise in U.S. Treasury yields is becoming one of the biggest risks facing the upward trend in Asian stock markets driven by artificial intelligence. This concerning correlation highlights the vulnerability of tech companies to high financing costs. Data shows that over the past five years, in 20 weeks where the yield on 10-year U.S. Treasuries rose by 20 basis points or more in a single week, the MSCI Asia-Pacific index fell in 17 of those weeks, with an average decline of 1.7%. As concerns about the U.S. fiscal situation intensify and the global bond market continues to decline, analysts Hebe Chen state: "If there are disordered fluctuations in the global bond market, it will inevitably affect the Asian region immediately, especially as the AI craze develops, markets such as Taiwan and South Korea in China are becoming increasingly linked to the U.S. tech cycle and capital flows. The recent upward trend in Asian stock markets has largely been concentrated in the tech and AI sectors, which are precisely the parts of the market most sensitive to rising capital costs, discount rates, exchange rate fluctuations, and the global economic fundamentals."
