2026-08-18 16:56:27
According to CoinMeta, in 2026, there were multiple security vulnerability incidents in the crypto industry, involving several well-known platforms. SafePal leaked 39,798 customer records due to a plugin flaw, Trezor leaked 13,689 records through its transportation provider ShipMonk, while Israel's largest compliant crypto broker Bits of Gold leaked approximately 200,000 records due to an analysis tool. Although no wallets were stolen, the leaked information provided criminals with evidence to verify that someone owned cryptocurrencies at specific addresses. This incident revealed structural gaps in data security among hardware wallet manufacturers and brokers.
