According to CoinMeta, on Tuesday, U.S. stock market futures fell due to tensions between the United States and Iran, with renewed concerns about inflation intensifying, and rising oil prices putting further pressure on markets. The Dow Jones Industrial Average futures (YM =F) declined by 0.2%, the S&P 500 index futures (ES =F) fell by 0.5%, and the Nasdaq 100 index futures (NQ =F) dropped by 0.9%. Oil prices soared to their highest level in two weeks after President Trump stated that he would impose additional economic sanctions on Iran and threatened to bomb any interference by Oman with U.S. plans in the Strait of Hormuz. Brent crude oil futures (BZ =F) reached $91 per barrel, and the U.S. benchmark West Texas Intermediate crude oil futures (CL =F) rose to $84 per barrel, while U.S. strategic oil reserves fell to their lowest level since 1982.
