Anthropic Plans to Introduce Super Voting Rights to Protect the Control of the Founding Team
2026-08-19 04:50:41
According to CoinMeta, as reported by The Information, Anthropic is preparing a class of shares with additional voting rights for CEO Leonardo Amodi and the other co-founders, in order to help the founding team withstand pressure from external shareholders. This will be the first time that the Anthropic leadership has super voting rights. Since the co-founders hold a relatively low percentage of shares in the company, this arrangement is seen as helping to maintain the founding team's control over the company. Anthropic also plans to retain the existing non-shareholder trustee system and use special class shares to elect the majority of board members, in order to further reduce the influence of external shareholders on corporate governance.
