According to CoinMeta, the U.S. Treasury Department has issued a announcement stating that it will double the scale of liquidity support for long-term nominal coupon securities repurchase operations, covering two maturity ranges: 10 to 20 years and 20 to 30 years. Currently, the maximum scale for each operation is $2 billion, but in the future, it will be increased to at least $4 billion per operation. The adjustment will take effect on September 9, 2026, and will be implemented throughout the remaining period of this round of refinancing. The U.S. Treasury Department will provide more information on future repurchase scales at its next quarterly refinancing meeting on November 4, 2026.
