According to CoinMeta, the Binance monitoring team discovered a malicious governance proposal targeting a certain DAO, involving a risk of approximately $1.2 million in treasury tokens, with less than 48 hours left before it was to be executed. Binance contacted the project and coordinated with the centralized exchange to shut down recharges, after which the project voted to reject the proposal. This proposal took advantage of the relatively low threshold for proposals through the project's on-chain governance mechanism. In July of this year, BonkDAO confirmed that a malicious proposal had transferred approximately $20 million worth of BONK tokens from its treasury.
