Industry insiders warn that AI Agent may reduce the cost of hacker attacks

According to CoinMeta, at the 2026 Wyoming Blockchain Symposium, several industry experts warned that while AI Agent lowers the barrier to using crypto products, it may also significantly reduce the cost of hacker attacks. The CEO of a global settlement network, Ryan Kirkley, stated that in the past, it was not worthwhile to attack users who held only $20,000 in assets, but in the future, one Agent could potentially target everyone at once. Existing hacker incidents involving cross-chain bridges worth billions of dollars might seem like "change" in comparison. Participants also pointed out that after Agent is hijacked, direct wallet emptying, leakage of private metadata, model illusions, and unclear legal liability attribution remain the main risks for its widespread adoption in financial scenarios.
