According to CoinMeta, Samsung Electronics plans to expand the “p5 Factory 1 and 2,” which are at the core of its semiconductor base in Pyeongtaek, Gyeonggi Province, into three-story buildings. The aim is to maximize production capacity in line with the global trend of a “super cycle” for artificial intelligence semiconductors and memory. The revised plan for this industrial park must be reviewed by the Governor of Gyeonggi Province and approved by the National Land, Transport and Maritime Affairs Ministry’s Industrial Site Selection Policy Review Committee before it can take effect.
