Analyst: Bitcoin price breaks through $72,000, facing risk of correction
2026-08-20 20:32:06
According to CoinMeta, the price of Bitcoin broke through $72,490 on August 20, driven by forced liquidations, and surpassed the 200-day moving average. However, the daily chart indicates a risk of overbought conditions, which may lead to a pullback. Currently, Bitcoin is trading at around $71,900 on Binance, up about 3.8% from the previous day. This breakthrough began when Bitcoin cleared the range between $64,000 and $66,000, after which the price rose above $70,000. The daily chart shows that Bitcoin has surpassed the 200-day simple moving average, which is around $69,010. Maintaining a price above the 200-day moving average would indicate that this upward trend is more than just a short-term rebound.
