Rapid7 exposes Operation Asterix phishing operation, involving 5,576 Binance accounts

According to CoinMeta, as reported by an early issuer of in, cybersecurity company Rapid7 exposed an encrypted phishing campaign named Operation Asterix which involved 885,000 mobile phone numbers and 5,576 Binance accounts. Attackers impersonated Ledger, Trezor, and Exodus to steal mnemonic phrases and used AI tools for fraud. Among 316,000 mobile phone numbers in Germany, 43,066 were matched with encrypted trading accounts. Hacken data shows that phishing attacks and social engineering scams caused $306 million in losses in the first quarter of this year, accounting for the majority of the total $482 million in losses in the crypto industry.
