Sun Yuchen: World Free Finance Lost Case in Court, All Individual Claims to Continue with Public Trials
2026-08-21 04:06:44
According to CoinMeta, Sun Yuchen opposed the secret arbitration request filed by World Liberty Finance in a federal court in California, and the court supported his position, ruling that all individual claims would continue to be heard in open court. Sun stated that this is a major victory, as the court rejected World Liberty Finance's argument to transfer related company claims to arbitration and ordered both parties to negotiate which claims should remain in court and which should be referred to arbitration. He believes that token holders have the right to know how the project treats those who trust them. Sun was one of the early and largest investors in World Liberty Finance, investing $45 million in exchange for WLFI tokens. However, he accuses the company of secretly embedding backdoors in its smart contracts, granting itself the power to unilaterally freeze and destroy these tokens. Sun's lawsuit seeks hundreds of millions of dollars in compensation, and he has obtained a court order prohibiting World Liberty Finance from destroying or permanently disposing of his tokens.
