According to CoinMeta, as reported by criptonoticias, the Dominican Republic's "Law No. 74-25" came into effect in August 2026. Article 240 of this law explicitly mentions cryptocurrencies, tokens, and NFT. It stipulates that the use of digital assets to carry out pyramid schemes can constitute a crime, but it does not establish a comprehensive regulatory framework for the everyday use of assets such as Bitcoin. The two bills aimed at establishing regulation and supervision of digital assets, as well as a national committee for digital and crypto assets, do not currently have legislative approval and remain pending in the House of Representatives.
