According to CoinMeta, as reported by Coinpaper, Bitcoin rose to $79,000 on Friday after a two-day strong rebound, continuing its strong recovery from August. According to market reports, BTC rose more than 5% on Thursday and about 7% on Wednesday. This fluctuation pushed Bitcoin from $65,000 earlier this week to as high as $79,000, marking one of the strongest short-term rebounds since 2026. The rebound also enabled Bitcoin to break through the previous resistance range of $69,000 to $70,000. The U.S. Treasury Department's unexpected announcement to double the scale of its repurchase of maturing Treasurys became the main catalyst for this rebound. The measure is expected to take effect in September, with each transaction amount increasing from $2 billion to at least $4 billion. This move alleviated the selling pressure on long-term Treasurys to some extent and drove up the prices of assets such as Bitcoin and gold.
