According to CoinMeta, a leak of GTA 6 led to a decline in the stock price of Take - Two Interactive ( TTWO ), with fake game downloads spreading malware. Take-Two lost approximately $2.8 billion in market value within two days due to concerns that the newly released "Grand Theft Auto VI" video might contain an available version of the leaked content. The stock price of TTWO was around $248.13 before August 18th, then fell to a low of $230, and has now rebounded to $240.15. This leak occurred at a sensitive time when GTA 6 is scheduled to be released on November 19th, and it is expected to become one of the biggest releases in the industry. The leaked content also involved cryptographic elements, with some parts accompanied by promotional materials, reflecting the increasing influence of Web3 projects and token-based monetization on the gaming industry.
