The US dollar approaches a three-month low due to concerns over Treasury bond repurchases

According to CoinMeta, the US dollar approached a three-month low during trading on Friday due to heightened concerns in the market about the US Treasury Department's expansion of its long-term Treasury bond repurchase program. Treasury Secretary Scott Branson stated that there may be further increases in the scale of bond repurchases, following the department's commitment to at least doubling the repurchase volume of long-term debt in order to curb bond yields. Long-term bond yields saw a significant rise this week, with the 30-year yield reaching its highest level since 2007. Traders pointed out that deteriorating fiscal prospects, large issuance volumes, geopolitical risks stemming from the Iran war, and uncertainties regarding the Federal Reserve's policy path are the main concerns. Analysts said that the strategy of suppressing yields could shift the burden of fiscal concerns onto the currency. The US Dollar Index fell by 0.05% to 98.79, while the euro rose by 0.03% to $1.1682. Bitcoin, as an alternative to fiat currencies, continued to climb, with the latest price at $77,060, having previously reached $79,455, the highest point since May 15.
