According to CoinMeta, BTCS disclosed in its 10-Q report for the second quarter of 2026 that it had repaid $8.2 million in debt to the AAVE protocol and reduced its DeFi leverage. BTCS reported a cash and stablecoin balance of $317,113 at the end of the quarter, as well as $36 million in loans due under the DeFi protocol, indicating that its digital asset balance sheet is still closely related to crypto, staking, and DeFi activities. This move by BTCS is seen as a risk management strategy, especially in light of the volatility in the Ethereum and DeFi markets.
