However, OpenAI grew at a faster pace in the third quarter. GPT-5.6 accounts for 25% of the usage of OpenAI tokens, while Anthropic's Fable only accounts for 6%. Fable also only accounts for 11.4% of Anthropic expenditures. In contrast, GPT-5.6 accounts for 23% of OpenAI expenditures. Meanwhile, nearly 56% of the companies tracked are currently paying fees to AI, although more and more companies are trying cheaper and open-source alternatives.
