According to CoinMeta, and as reported by the British newspaper The Daily Telegraph, in July of this year, hackers associated with Iran launched an unprecedented cyberattack that caused a British power plant to shut down for four days. At the same time, last month, the US water infrastructure also suffered a series of attacks that affected 12 states, drawing the attention of the White House. The affected power plants were relatively small in scale; the UK has dozens of small power plants, many of which operate only intermittently. For security reasons, the government did not disclose which specific plant was targeted.
