OpenAI Codex Official Responds to Disputes over Reduced Quotas, Claiming to Perform a Full Reset
2026-08-23 14:55:35
According to CoinMeta, Tibo Sottiaux, the person in charge of OpenAI Codex, stated regarding the recent issue of reduced user quotas that the investigation is still ongoing and no abnormalities have been found in the overall usage system so far. He added that the team has identified three additional causes of high consumption: low efficiency when repeatedly compressing contexts in very long sessions with images, excessive usage of computer and history in some high-consumption scenarios, and the quota consumption for the automatically generated session title feature exceeding expectations. A fix will be released on Sunday at U.S. time, and all paid subscribers' Codex usage will be completely reset, with the reset expected to take effect around 2 p.m. Pacific Time.
