Fidelity Investments increases its gold holdings, betting on a crisis of the Federal Reserve's credibility and a decline in the dollar's safe-haven status

According to CoinMeta, a portfolio manager at Fidelity International stated that within the past three weeks, the gold holdings of the fund he manages have doubled. He attributed this move to the increased uncertainty in Federal Reserve policy. After raising the gold allocation in the fund to the upper limit of 5% that he set, George Evstathopoulos said that if the status of the dollar as a safe-haven asset continues to decline, he will consider raising this allocation limit further. George also mentioned that the U.S. Treasury's unexpected increase in long-term bond repurchases seems more like an attempt to “manipulate yields rather than to address the underlying reasons for the rise in yields.”
