According to CoinMeta, as reported by edaily, Lee Eun-kyung, the chairman of the Financial Services Commission of South Korea, stated that the government has largely completed the second-phase legislative preparations for the "Digital Assets Basic Act" regarding stablecoins. The government will accelerate consultations with the National Assembly, aiming to propose a bill this autumn and complete the legislation within the year. Currently, there are 10 bills related to digital assets and stablecoins pending review in the South Korean National Assembly, and the chairman of the Government Affairs Committee may also propose a unified version that incorporates the government's proposals next month. The South Korean government has previously included the regulation of stablecoins and Bitcoin spot trading ETF among the agenda items for the construction of the digital asset system in the second half of this year.
