According to CoinMeta, Supermicro Corporation’s ( Super Micro Computer ) stock price fell 7% on Monday morning to $34.53, following a lawsuit filed by Taiwanese prosecutors against employees of its local unit, accusing them of illegally exporting 74 AI servers to China by forging documents. Meanwhile, Dell’s ( Dell ) stock price dropped 2%, while NVIDIA (NVIDIA) and HP Enterprise ( Hewlett Packard Enterprise ) remained stable. The market generally believes that this case is more of an instance of employee misconduct rather than a company-level error in export control. Supermicro is also currently facing an investigation by an independent board of directors regarding its export control transactions, which increases compliance risks.
