Castle Securities: The US Treasury's practice of repurchasing government bonds constitutes financial repression

According to CoinMeta, Castle Securities stated in a report on CNBC that the U.S. Treasury's practice of curbing long-term borrowing costs by repurchasing government bonds constitutes financial repression, which may weaken the dollar and drive up inflation. U.S. Treasury Secretary Janet Yellen may utilize the General Fund ( TGA ) to fund the repurchase of government bonds. Castle Securities believes that such intervention will shift pressure to the foreign exchange market, as declining yields will reduce the attractiveness of the dollar and push up the prices of imported goods. Shah pointed out that suppressing long-term yields does not eliminate the economic factors that drive up yields, and the message conveyed by the bond market is that fiscal or monetary policy should be tightened.
