According to CoinMeta, Wu said that Bloomberg analyst Eric Balchunas stated that gold ETF SPDR Gold Shares ( GLD ) and Bitcoin ETF iShares Bitcoin Trust ( IBIT ) have re-entered the top ten in terms of trading volume, replacing some positions previously occupied by semiconductors ETF. He believes this reflects a shift in market funds from the semiconductor boom towards "currency devaluation trading" ( debasement trade ), that is, towards investing in assets such as gold and Bitcoin that serve as stores of value. Semiconductors ETF still maintain a high level of trading activity, but it has declined compared to the peak during the summer.
