According to CoinMeta, a German think tank stated on Wednesday that confidence in Germany’s export industry has significantly improved, reaching its highest level since February 2022. Based on surveys conducted with manufacturers, the ifo Export Expectations Index rose from -2.8 points in July to 9.6 points in August. The Klaus Wohlrabe of this think tank noted: “The export industry is experiencing accelerated growth, especially exports to the European Union, which are booming.” Due to the continuous increase in economic digitization and high investment in the field of artificial intelligence, manufacturers of electrical equipment continue to maintain a very optimistic attitude, as do those of data processing equipment, as well as manufacturers of electronic and optical products. ifo also mentioned that the automotive industry and manufacturers of metal products are much more optimistic about export prospects than before. In contrast, the paper industry and companies involved in metal production and processing expect exports to decline.
