According to CoinMeta, and as reported by Cointelegraph, a report from Chainalysis indicates that global taxable crypto activities on-chain are expected to reach $457 billion in 2025, of which North America accounts for $134.6 billion, the European Union for $125.1 billion, and the United States for $112.6 billion. This data covers mining, staking, lending, and transactions on six major public blockchains, and does not include internal transactions on centralized exchanges. Currently, the Organization for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD)’s framework for reporting on crypto assets (OECD Crypto Assets Report Framework) can only track 14% of taxable funds on-chain, with the remaining 86% being difficult to regulate and track due to the lack of custodians.
