BlackRock Official: US Debt and Fiscal Deficit Become Core Risks for the Market
2026-08-27 08:55:51
According to CoinMeta, Robbie Mitchnick, the head of BlackRock's digital assets department, stated that U.S. debt and fiscal deficits are once again becoming the core risks for the market, prompting some investors to turn to alternative value storage assets such as Bitcoin and gold. As of August 18th, the U.S. federal debt had risen to approximately $40.05 trillion. Mitchnick believes that fiscal sustainability is more important for the long-term pricing of Bitcoin itself, and clearer regulations will have a greater impact on other crypto sectors such as DeFi. BlackRock has also previously pointed out that rising government debt and persistent fiscal deficits may strengthen Bitcoin's role as a long-term allocation tool to hedge against the devaluation of fiat currencies.
