Hackers turn the AI encoding tool into a cyber weapon
2026-08-27 18:18:50
According to CoinMeta, Russian-speaking hackers utilized AI-coded agents to assist in the intrusion into at least seven companies in Europe and other regions. Israeli cybersecurity startup Gambit Security reported that hackers bypassed the security measures of AI by claiming that the attacks were merely "simulation exercises," thereby carrying out credential theft and account takeover. AI may increase the speed of attacks by 30% to 50%, which further exacerbates concerns that commercial AI agents could accelerate cybercrime activities.
