Cosmos EVM Vulnerability Affects Nesa, Kiichain, TAC, and Mantra Networks
2026-08-27 20:23:50
According to CoinMeta, a security vulnerability in the Cosmos EVM shared stack affected the networks of Nesa, Kiichain, TAC, and Mantra. Attackers exploited this vulnerability to create and bridge approximately 50 million US dollars' worth of NES tokens on the Nesa chain. Although the nominal value was significant, the actual profit was only about 60,000 US dollars due to insufficient liquidity. Cosmos Labs has recommended that chains running affected versions pause operations and upgrade. Kiichain reported that attackers reused this vulnerability 18 times, resulting in the theft of 148,326,583.15 KII. TAC and Mantra also suspended operations due to similar attacks.
