According to CoinMeta, oil-producing countries in the Middle East are increasing their exports, and the flow of crude oil through the Strait of Hormuz is also gradually recovering. This increase is helping to curb global crude oil price rises. Oil traders involved in and monitoring freight activities estimate that currently about 6 to 8 million barrels of crude oil pass through this vital global oil transportation route each day. In July, a series of attacks by Iran on super tankers led to a breakdown of the temporary ceasefire, increasing navigation risks and causing a decline in crude oil flows. The current transportation volume is still about half of the pre-war level. However, there may be significant differences in estimates among various parties, and there is considerable volatility. Some estimates suggest that the average daily crude oil transport volume through the Strait of Hormuz reaches 10 million barrels, with U.S. officials providing even higher figures. The British Navy reported that two cargo ships were attacked on Monday, once again highlighting the significant risks ships face when passing through the strait. One factor contributing to the continuous recovery in transport volumes is that market freight rates for super tankers have reached record highs, which further motivates shipowners to take the risk of passing through the strait.
