According to CoinMeta, the president of the Malaysian Semiconductor Industry Association, Wong Siew Hai, has raised the country's export forecast for electrical and electronic products this year to over 900 billion ringgit (about $223 billion), as demand driven by the global artificial intelligence boom has exceeded previous expectations. He expects that exports of related products in the second quarter of this year will exceed 800 billion ringgit. In the first seven months of 2026, Malaysia's exports of technology products have increased by 44% year-on-year, reaching about 564 billion ringgit, accounting for approximately 48% of the country's total exports. Semiconductors account for nearly three-quarters of this category. He stated, "With this momentum, we may exceed 900 billion ringgit this year. Everyone is building artificial intelligence infrastructure at all levels."
