2026-08-28 18:53:17
According to CoinMeta, Wu said that Mantra released a comprehensive review of the security incident on the mainnet on August 20th. Mantra stated that the incident stemmed from a vulnerability in the upstream software used in their cosmos-evm module. After detecting abnormal activity, the team suspended the mainnet to prevent further asset transfers. Before the situation could be controlled, two wallets managed by Mantra were affected, but they claimed that no user, exchange, or partner funds were impacted. Following a thorough security review and multiple rounds of testing, the mainnet was restored to normal on August 22nd after fixing the relevant cosmos-evm vulnerabilities through v8.4.0. No chain rollback was performed during the restoration process, and users' balances were not altered.
