Wash: Inflation is still above target, and the Fed still has work to do

According to CoinMeta, Federal Reserve Chairman Jerome Powell warned that inflation has not shown a meaningful slowdown, and policymakers must be confident that inflation is moving in the right direction; otherwise, the central bank "still has work to do." Powell reiterated that the Fed will bring inflation rates back down to its 2% target, emphasizing that this is a clear and fixed goal. He stated, "My standard is that we must be confident that underlying inflation is moving towards our target, and the pace must be clear and fast enough. Otherwise, we still have work to do. That is our responsibility." Powell also pointed out that the current financial conditions are not restrictive, and interest rates are the "primary tool" for the Fed to fulfill its responsibilities.
