According to CoinMeta, Venezuela's interim president, Delcy Rodríguez, announced further details of a petroleum agreement with the United States in a national television speech. The agreement, which spans 25 years, covers 17 prospective oil fields with the goal of producing 1.5 million barrels of crude oil per day. The Venezuelan government hopes to profit by setting a price of $69 per barrel for oil, ensuring a profit of $19 per barrel for the government. In addition, there is a 16% fee for the use of the mining areas and a 34% income tax on oil companies operating the oil fields. It is expected that these revenues will be added to the $209 billion in profits announced earlier this week.
