According to CoinMeta, OpenAI has announced that it will terminate its direct access agreement with Cursor on November 12, 2026. This decision was made after SpaceX completed its $60 billion acquisition of Cursor. OpenAI stated that the change in ownership has raised concerns regarding future compliance and notified SpaceX that the agreement will be gradually phased out. OpenAI indicated that future models Astra will no longer be provided to Cursor through the current agreement, while emphasizing that developers' needs during the transition period will still be supported.
