According to CoinMeta, co-founder Luke Dashjr of OCEAN reached an agreement with the parent company Mummolin Inc on August 29th to officially leave the Bitcoin mining pool and resigned from his positions as chairman, chief technology officer, and director. Mummolin also repurchased all of Dashjr's shares, but did not disclose the amount of the repurchase or Dashjr's previous shareholding percentage. In a joint statement, both parties indicated that the reason for the separation was their different visions for the future of Bitcoin mining, although the statement did not specify the details of these visions or disagreements. Dashjr plans to create a new project named Convoy to continue to promote the decentralization of Bitcoin mining. OCEAN stated that they will continue to support miners.
