Peter Schiff: Bitcoin is not a real asset
2026-08-31 00:48:45
According to CoinMeta, long-time Bitcoin critic Peter Schiff has once again launched an attack on cryptocurrencies, stating that Bitcoin should not be compared to traditional assets such as gold. He pointed out that the market size of gold is about 20 times that of Bitcoin, the global stock market is about 100 times that of Bitcoin, and the global real estate market is more than 250 times that of Bitcoin. Schiff said, "Bitcoin is not a real asset, so its value has nothing to do with gold, stocks, or real estate." He also questioned the view of Bitcoin as a tool for hedging against inflation, arguing that investors should choose traditional precious metals over Bitcoin. Schiff emphasized that investors holding Bitcoin may have missed better investment opportunities.
