According to CoinMeta, South Korea is preparing to start testing a "free for all" AI program from September. Three alliances, SK Telecom, KT, and Kakao, have won the bid and will officially launch by the end of the year. South Korean citizens will be able to use it for free without any token limits. The government will provide 512 NVIDIA B200 to these three alliances this year. Based on an estimate of 4 queries per person per day and 500 tokens per response, this batch of cards can theoretically support about 18.4 million daily active users. The government requires that at least half of the AI services be provided by South Korea's own foundational models, and at least another 30% must be allocated to models from other South Korean companies. Motif 3, which was previously eliminated in the national team selection, has now made it into both the SKT and KT model pools. South Korea currently has about 23 million generative AI users, but most are still using overseas products such as ChatGPT, Gemini, and Claude. In the evaluation, service reach and user acquisition accounted for 50 points, while model quality, stability, and security combined only accounted for 30 points.
