According to CoinMeta, the parent company of the New York Stock Exchange, ICE, announced a partnership with blockchain infrastructure company tZERO to build the systems required for its planned tokenized securities market. Both parties will jointly develop transfer agents and broker infrastructure that support on-chain settlement of tokenized securities. ICE will also invest in tZERO's latest financing round and grant it licenses to 103 of its blockchain patents. The amount of this investment has not been disclosed. ICE expects tZERO to become the approved digital transfer agent for its upcoming digital trading platform. ICE, the vice president of ICE, stated that tZERO's experience in regulated on-chain infrastructure makes it a valuable partner for expanding the digital transfer agent program. ICE and tZERO will also explore whether tokenized assets can be used as collateral for ICE clearinghouses and other affiliated institutions. ICE previously selected Securitize as the digital transfer agent for its tokenized securities platform.
